UP Government Sanctioned ₹64.94 Cr. For New Air Terminal Building At Agra Airport Featured

Agra: Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned ₹64.94 crores for the new air terminal building at the Agra airport, renamed as Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya airport.

Agra divisional commissioner K Ram Mohan Rao gave this information to media persons.

This money will be used for purchase of land from farmers. The state government is purchasing 23.32535 hectares of land in Dhanauli village.

The divisional commissioner said the air terminal project will give a big boost to tourism in Agra. Work is expected to begin in the first week of July.

Last two days, the tourism industry leaders and other civil society activists had been on war path after the union government cleared the international airport project for Jewar close to the Yamuna Expressway. Two local MPs and nine MLAs of the BJP from Agra were also unhappy and were pressing the Yogi government to respond to Agra's long pending demand for an international airport.
