Mumbai: Shriji Arvind Singhji Mewar of Udaipur, Chairman and Managing Trustee of the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF) in Udaipur, became the first Indian man to receive the VIII WT Institution Award for 2012 at the General Assembly of United Nations headquarters in New York.
He received this prestigious award on behalf of the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, a public charitable trust, through which he has perpetuated values such as service to society and mankind with a vision to serve as a 'temple of inspiration' for future generations. The main focus of the foundation is to preserve the 'Living Heritage'.
The award applauds his outstanding achievement, leadership and work through the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, Udaipur. It is a unique case study of governance at the highest level that mankind can aspire to, both in personal and business environment. The Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation's current outreach is in the field of academics, eco-management, philanthropy and heritage conservation and promotion, in association with several institutions at state, national and international levels.
